Today I:
  • walked to school, with my iPod blasted to full mode.
  • was asked a question during Natsci by sir Cujo and answered it partially.
  • bought a cup of hot coffee and a hot dog in the cafeteria cos I didn't get my breakfast.
  • got my B-math grade... 86.52% yes, it's low and that sucks.
  • read my poem out loud in class for Reconse. (think my voice was shaking due to nervousness) embarassing!!!
  • demonstrated our tuna salad recipe in front again.
  • ate the tuna salad. Yummy! It's seriously good.
  • ate the chocolate that Alessi gave Gayle (1/4 only. left the rest for Gaylers).
  • walked back home to grab some lunch and e-mail papa.
  • back to school and netopia for inquiry.
  • home again for a nap.
  • accompanied Angela to BDO Bank about her account.
  • Texted Camille cos I needed some help on my laptop. Think it caught some virus.
  • ...2 hours later- virus still there...
  • ...3 hours later- virus still there...
  • ...7th hour- cleaning system, no need to panic cos all infected files were deleted. 702 files were found infected!!! No Joke!
  • and finally 1 hour from now, I, Karen will be getting the sleep needs. :p

MY WISH

I wish that…

I lived in a world where sin

Does not exist, no aguish,

No misery nor sorrows.

No corruption and poverty,

Where no one struggled,

No deaths, nor trouble.

I wish that…

I existed in a world,

Filled with humility and serenity,

Where there’s delight and happiness

And choices are made wisely.

In a world that goes beyond the sea

Someplace of freedom and independence.

I wish that…

I was settled in a world,

Where people loved and shared,

Practicing justice and care.

This place full of laughter to reminiscence good memories

To be enjoyed with friends and families.

But lastly, I wish that…

I wish that I was in a world,

Where God was our main source of strength;

To honor and to obey

Whatever barrier may come in the way.

So this is my wish,

My paradise.

THANKS CAMILLE!!!! YOU ROCK!!!

My version of Inspired
"Intense chemistry. It's something so rare, some people
never find it in their lifetime.
It's that feeling of strong physical attraction.
That passing of a look between two people,
and knowing what's in the other's mind.

It's the coming together of two people,
who disregarded the time
and place for it's inevitable
for them to be together.

It's that connection that binds them.
That strong tug that
pulls them together and makes them
want to stay and fall in love. "

Tuna Salad

Good morning everyone,/ our recipe for today is /Tuna Salad with Feta Cheese.// It’s very simple to put together/ especially if you’re a working mother/ or you don’t have much time in your hands.// Not only is it tasty but healthy as well.//

So the preparation time/ will be around 7 minutes/ and it’ll be ready in 5 minutes.//

The following ingredients you will need are://

· 1 Apetina Feta Cheese/ with Olives (150 grams)//

· 4 Table spoons/ of Olive Oil//

· 1 can of tuna flakes/ in vegetable oil (Century Tuna)//

· 1 bag of lettuce/ torn and cut into bite sized pieces//

· 1 Cucumber/ diced//

· 1 Onion/ diced//

· A good handful of cheery tomatoes//

· 1 Can of Molinera/ Red Kidney Beans//

· 6 Spanish green olives//

· 1/8 teaspoon Salt//

· 1/8 teaspoon Pepper //

· Optional: bell pepper //

You will also need the following equipment://

· Bowl//

· Fork//

· Knife//

· Strainer//

· Cutting Board//

· Salad Fork//

· Measuring Spoon//

· Apron//

· Can Opener//

Preparation://

1. First,/ drain the kidney beans using a strainer.//

2. Next,/ dice the onion and cucumber.//

3. Wash the iceberg lettuce/ and pat dry using a kitchen towel.//

4. Then,/ cut the end bits of the lettuce/ because it’s tough.//

5. Cut the lettuce into bite sized pieces;/ (because you don't want to choke on the lettuce).//

6. Drizzle the lettuce with olive oil/ and then toss to evenly distribute the olive oil.// Mix it well using a salad fork.//

7. Add salt and pepper for taste.// Then/ toss it again/ using a salad fork and spoon.//

8. Add the tuna into the bowl.//

9. It's now time to add the onion,/ cherry tomatoes,/ and the cucumber into the bowl// (You don't necessarily have to use cherry tomatoes/ you can use just ordinary red tomatoes/ if cherry tomatoes don’t fit your budget).//

10. Add the olives.// Olives are also quite expensive,/ but it really brings out the taste.// Mix it all again.//

11. Finally,/ add the feta cheese into the bowl.//

12. Now in just under 10 minutes,/ you can have yourself a tuna salad.//

The tuna salad serves 2 to 3 people.//

Thank you.// And we hope you try this simple tuna salad recipe.//

Above is the recipe for our ORALCOM recitation/ presentation. Not only are we going to read it out loud, but Gayle (my partner) and I will be demonstrating [yes, in front of the class] how to actually make it like those students in Hotel, Restaurant Institute and Management. Only problem is we're not really trained to do so. Y'know like chop a WHOLE cucumber in less that 5 seconds or produce flames on pans without actually burning the food. So I'm hoping that all goes well for tomorrow. Went grocery shopping with sister and it was fun if it weren't for the woman who slipped infront of me while I was pushing the cart and her left foot sorta hit the metal-ish thingy of my cart. Kinda got stared at for it- it was an accident. If she didn't steal my line, her foot wouldn't have been caught stuck on my cart. Still I'm really sorry it had to happen.

And yes, I finally got around to watch 'Jumper' the movie. Honestly, it wasn't as good as I expected, I mean it wasn't that bad but it didn't awe me either. I dunno, maybe it's cos my friends kept telling me to watch it cos it's a 'MUST SEE'. So you get your hopes all high up the sky and then when you're actually there you think, where's the x-factor? where's the adrenaline? But then again, maybe it's just me. :)

Picture below is the sight that I have at the moment looking from my condo window.
one of the building look kinda golden, don't it?

♥ invention ♥

The picture above is one of my inventions for a filipino presentation during midterms, hence the spelling of words are in tagalog so please pardon that. It's called an sPen. Got a 98% for it- not bad aye? Still think it was good for a full-on 100. I just thought that a pen with a portable camera and a built-in pepper spray would come in handy especially in Philippines. It's solar chargable too so if you forget your charger, just put it under the sun. Handy, no? And incase you get robbed, not only can you put pepper spray in accord to your defense but you can also take a picture of the thief's face who tries to steal from you. What do you think?

I recommend that you have scones during tea time. Not only is it simply easy to make, but it's a perfect combination with all sorts of tea. May it be Jasmine, Green, Java and even Lemon Tea.

5 Ways to make your scones taste better:
  • Step 1: Cut your scone halfway (middle section).
  • Step 2: Butter up your scone with a knife.
  • Step 3: Put some jam on top of the butter spread.
  • Step 4: Smother whipped cream all over the jam.
  • Step 5: Sprinkle strawberries. (optional) Yum!
  • Step 6: Your scone is ready to eat!

YUMMY

Cool tee I saw in the University Mall right after riding the tube and walking home. Agreeable words too. More random photographs below. Haha, think I'm loosing weight? It's prolly cos I have too much going on in school. ;)

stop and stare

March starts tomorrow. My birthday's in 23 days and for the first time, I'm honestly not looking forward to it. Ironic, aye?

Pictures of me and kat the in csb bathroom (after presentation)!! :D

Looks like I am getting that tan I wanted ;p

Dinner w/ Angela and sis in PIZZA HUT!

Time seriously flies and weekend starts once again. Friday nights are dull, because you see college kids in the building being picked up by their drivers and parents while I, stay back. Left behind. Makes me miss my parents even more. Our NatSci PBL Presentation went well, although we didn't get a complete 4.0 from our classmates- pretty hurtful considering how we were all but unprepared. Some people are just plain stubborn.

friends

I think I'm gonna go watch 'Jumper' tonight.

busy busy busy

Work is finally paying off. Hours of not sleeping is worth it!

I have been prolifically working pretty hard these past few days, with so much projects and group activities happening around school- life's pretty tough. Yesterday, we attended this classical play called 'DUES', Ral, a fellow classmate was one of the main characters in the play so it was fair enough to support her as our friend. The tickets were sold out so I guess that means they really must be good. Watched a movie last night called 'My Big Love'.

Ral- the mermaid!

Cast of the 'DUES' play!! woo! Go Ral!!

My Big Love Casts.

In the cinema. (hilarious part)

Today, in class I did an extempo-something speech, Love and Gayle said it was pretty good. I felt like my head was being banged on the wall and my hands got extra cold when I went up that podium. If it weren't for the encouraging smiles that my friends gave me I don't think I would have done well. And to God, of course. Speaking of, we had one of our Bible Study sessions with ate Janelle after school. It felt great after not seeing her for almost two weeks. I am spiritually contented once again!

Cool tee I badly wanted to get~ so totally ME!

My sis and Angela are out at the moment- window shopping in Robinson's Mall. I slept all afternoon, headache's gone and I'm thinking of going out for a walk :p And for all of the tech junkies out there, you might find this video pretty appealing :)

my insights on poverty and corruption (dedicated to philippines)

Corruption is a dishonesty that is done to gain personal satisfaction. There is a saying that goes, ”Human beings are never contented with what they have, because they often appear to always want more”. Money and power- the two main necessities that can drive man to evil. Political officials would steal money from the poor, and use it to cover up whatever illegal dealings that they had done just for the sake of their reputations.

Poverty, out of many other different categories is one of the causes of corruption. With money stolen from the deprived, a major change in these victims’ lives would transpire. There would be a deficiency in food, shelter and clothing. And if this bribery prolongs, our younger generation would suffer.

an oh-so ordinary day

What Mrs. Gloria really wants needs... oohh aa! ;)

Walked to school with my headphones blasted to full volume. Loved the cool morning breeze. If it weren't for pollution the morning would have been described as "perfect ". I couldn't stop laughing after my 3 hours of break time because Love said that Mrs. Gloria had fart-breath!!! Buahaha! She was forced to go and speak to her about a solution that she got correctly but marked wrong. Poor Lovee! Hung out with Jimmy for 5-10 minutes! Even had a mini-pictorial with him.

;)

thoughts

It sucks when there are days where you're just super preoccupied with so much and so busy with things and then the next day, there's nothing else left to do. Is it some sort of adjustment that we as human beings should adopt to just because that's the way life goes?

There are days when I just wish that time would go easy on me when I'm loaded. I mean most of the time, I like the fact that I'm doing something productive with my life. But there really are days, when I just wanna jump on my couch, turn on the TV and catch up and tune in with the latest news.

Midterm week is over. Can't believe I was up in the Study Hall just 2 days ago reviewing like crazy and now, nothing much to do but eat, sleep, watch TV and check my e-mails. Sighs! Boredom is seriously striking again!!!

He

He sees me,
reads me like a book
knows what's in my mind,
what bothers me
troubles and
worries me.

He sees me,
right through my soul
handles my heart
like it's the most precious thing
in the world
if only he knew
that he possess it.

He sees me,
as the person that i am
not for the person
that i sometimes pretend to be
yet, he chooses to stay

He sees
and loves me.
He chose to do so.
And whenever I ask why,
he replies
'I just do'
... and smiles.

not the best week but it's cool

Okay, so this week pretty much started downhill. arguments with friends and my sister, loosing my starbucks coupon card and much much more. but yeah, with God by my side, guiding me throughout every single step and decision that I make... it just seemed much smarter to face the problem and to try to figure out a solution to fix it.

Anyhow, arguments were patched up by having long conversations via personal, telephones and other forms of technology. found the lost card underneath the bed, had bible study with ate janelle. got a perfect score in my math quiz (something that doesn't usually happen to me everyday because i hate math) but yeah, overall, it ended well.

oh yeah, there's this barista in starbucks who sorta cute and he ran all the way just to open the door for me when i was leaving. im so kilig! (something the locals here would say when they feel happy or excited)
