Trying my best to keep myself occupied here.

28th April '07: I dunno what's up with me but I couldn't sleep last night. (again!) I so wish right now that I had my sis, Kresta's easy-to-sleep-wherever-whenever hormones. Cos I sure don't have it. It takes me a couple of twists and turns and the day's happening and when I'm finally tired enough, my body would let me sleep. *sighs* And not getting 8-9 hours of sleep is starting to make me feel moody and irritated by the simplest mishaps. Anyways, was suppose to go to church at 6am but since I didn't get enough sleep.. I told my aunt that I'd pass. But the thing is THAT didn't make any difference at all because the current ran off just right after my aunt left so I got irritated cos it's HOT here in the Philippines - summer season. So yeah, decided to grab a bite to eat. And since it's fiesta today, ALOT of firework are cracking up and making deadly noises. Seriously, I hope I don't go deaf. :)

Tests taken: Me is Elmo and Peter Petrelli from Heroes.

Elmo
This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.

You are mostly organized, more abstract, and both introverted and extroverted.

Most people either love or hate Elmo. I hope you love Elmo, because that's who you are.

You are both somewhat organized. You have a good idea where you put things and you probably keep your place reasonably clean. You aren't totally obsessed with neatness though. Elmo has the same basic approach. His place is pretty tidy, but he doesn't spend all of his time cleaning it up.

You both are abstract thinkers. You definitely are not afraid to take chances in life. You only live once. You may notice others around you playing it safe, but you are more concerned with not compromising your desires, and getting everything you can out of life. This is a very romantic approach to life, but hopefully you are also grounded enough to get by. Elmo's whole life is based on fantasy and his imagination. In the beginning he was a regular character, but now he spends most of his time in this fantasy world.

You are both somewhat extroverts. Like Elmo, you probably like to have some time to yourself, but you do appreciate spending time with your friends, and you aren't scared of social situations. Elmo spends some of his time with real friends, but he also needs some time just to chat it up with his goldfish.

I guess people change sometimes.. - for the good. hehe.

Oh yeah, I have completed the Asphalt Urban GT in my motorola phone in just less than 2 hours today. hehe. I had ALOT of training from the PS2 back at home.. and to Road Rage 1, 2 and 3. hehe. The day's worth of 8 hours play's finally paid off, eh? :p

She's 100% mean. No heart in her.

Cool aye? I think it rocks.. err.. rule(?) ehh.. whatever. Both then!

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask 'How are you?'
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in bed?
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head.
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told someone
'We'll do it tomorrow?'
And in your haste
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say, "Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It's like an unopened gift...
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

The poem was written by a terminally ill little girl from the New York Hospital who has cancer; 6 months to live. The poem was sent by her doctor, Dr. Dennis Shields, ProfessorDepartment of Developmental and Molecular Biology1300 Morris Park AvenueBronx, New York 10461. Her wish is that this poem of hers would be discovered by people so that they would learn to appreciate life alittle more. Even with all ups and downs. I know that I, for one will.

Have a nice day everyone!

*hugs*

:D

PS: I will be looking for a place to crash in in Manila.. through the Classified Adds later with my auntie right after dinner. Hopefully we do find a decent place at an affordable price with the help of God. I know that He will keep me safe forever. *fingers crossed*

Entry for Dennis

Note to Dennis: Dennis you're last comment made me laugh. Thanks man.. People like you are what inspires me from blogging cos you're feedbacks are always interesting and something to look forward to. Haha.. since you've mentioned it, not much HAS been happening with me. I just try to make things happen.. And when they do, I try to make it more interesting then it really is in reality. Yes, this is the person I am becoming here. But I'm glad that you still have the time to check out whatever it is that I write. You seriously rock Dennis!! *grins*

I'm actually running outta things to post here. hehe. so yeah.. I'll be ending this post with a quote that I read from a newspaper today.

Here it is:

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. - Leo Buscaglia.

I know that I suck in Chemistry and Astronomy. *nods*

Weird day to be honest.

People always say that you should get a long enough sleep before having to take an exam, no? Well, this time.. the beauty sleep thing didn't last 'that' long. Why? Because my freakingly freakish neighbour started kareoke-ing in the freaking middle of the night. Can you believe? Talk about wrong timing. Never in my life have I experienced such karma.. and trust me.. I had alot in the past.

So yeah, my eyes were wide-open in the dark. You know, when I was lying down I swear an image of me looking like an owl swam across my mind. Haha.. it's true. It really did. Plus, my aunt snoring just beside me didn't help either.

Left the house around 5am just so that I can both have breakfast and be on time for the exam in De La Salle Uni - Manila[DLSU-M]. Reaching a particular destination here is quite a struggle so you gotta keep a tight sched. Anyways, breakfast was fine.. met a girl called Janice while waiting for the late comers to arrive at the exam venue.

The exam (Ohh, and I DID my prayers before the exam okay)?

It was SUPER DUPERY BUPER tough!! There was the:

  • IQ Test - which I found Ok honestly. Common sense.
  • Eng Compre Skills - where you have to answer 9 passages in 25 mins. Ok but didn't finish the whole unit. Too much question and so little time. I'm no supergirl. *shrugs*
  • Break Time - Weehoo! This was the only time where I enjoyed myself. Who wouldn't? You get to do boy-watching. *winks* just kidding! I was too nervous to do such.
  • Mathematics - A torture. Huhu.. it sucked!!
  • General Sci, Bio, Chem (alot. No fair!!), Physics & Astronomy - double times the suckier for maths.
  • Geog - easy-ness. (parap pap pap pap.. I'm lovin' it) :p
  • Free Writing - An essay about what your views are about Filipino pros migrating abroad. Easy stuff.. hehe
  • Tagalog paksa (after the exam I asked my aunt what paksa meant she said a short paragraph; essay) - the only two words that I understood were Anong (which means 'what') and globalization (err.. think it's the same in english, yes?) so yeah, the rest of the question were too deep. So us international kids, we handed our papers.. untouched on the last part.

It's better leaving that particular space blank than getting deducted with wrong spellings and usage of words, noh?

After the exam we had lunch at KFC and I lovvveee the crispy, spicy fried chicken. (Even tho I get allergies if I eat too much) Then travelled all the way froom Manila to La Union.. ohh, 7 hours of butty ache. Dear scientists, I am still waiting for the pill that would have the power to paralyse your butt, you know? It would really sell. Hee hee..

So yeah, we have reached home safely. Thank you Lord for guiding us. Always and everyday! And so I am writing this blog. You guys take care!

Flashbacks on the childhood past.

SmileyCentral.com

Summer vacation has started for the elementary school kids here. And as I lay in bed; reviewing and getting ready for my exam tomorrow, I can hear these kids playing kiddish games that I once played too. When I was about their age.

*sighs*

Hearing them sing along to the melodies and beat just made me miss everyone back there in Brunei. Thus, I know now that I once had a great childhood past that I would always cherish deep down in a place in my heart.

:)

What I have covered so far with my reviewers:
  • English
  • Trigonometry
  • Chemistry
  • General Science
  • Earth Science
  • Astronomy
  • Physics (halfway..)

What I have not covered yet:

  • Algebra
  • Analytic Geometry

Listening to:

  • The Veronicas - 4ever

Good to bad to worse (?)

Okay, so my aunt is watching the BIG fight between Paquio and Solis (Boxing Match) and my rebellious uncle is out - smoking another box of Molboro. I on the other hand, have been infront of my squatted books.. reviewing. No choice!

So many things have happened and it HAS been quite awile since I last blogged because my freaking dial-up system ran out of load. So sorry readers. Well anyways, here's a summary of whatever happened so far since I've last blogged:

Took the BIG exam in UP Baguio the art school I was talking about.. and I admit alot were talented and my artwork and their artwork are so much different if you compare. Somehow, nowadays I'm more into graphical artwork whereas they, are into the colorful cheery type.. so yeah. With the standards of giving marks were different - I didn't make it.. Here's what the secretary sent me VIA text message:

Karen, we regret 2 inform u dat u did not pass d TDT test. Thank u 4 considering UP Baguio as 1 of ur choice. T.Violy.

Which disappointed me at first when I found out but I'm okay now. Although my soul was bruised when they said I wasn't determined enough. But in life, you get hurt by people.

Anyways, the same night I found out that I didn't get in the art school.. my aunt and I headed to Manila to collect my entrance exam results in De La Salle , St. Benilde College (DLS-SBC). And the shocking part about this is I GOT IN. Couldn't believe it actually cos the exam was hard due to standard difference plus I left out alot of blanks during the whole test. Here's what the letter said:

Dear Karen,

Congratulations! *It's was when I read the congrats part that I started screaming and jumping.. read the rest of it only after I calmed down* It is our pleasure to inform you that you have been accepted to De La Salle of St. Benilde. You are, therefore, eligable to enroll for the First Trimester of SY 2007-2008 in the degree program : Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.

After collecting the results we headed straight back in the province. Gggrr.. another 7 hours of ass pains.. Honestly, they should invent pills that make your ass numb cos it helps esp with long lectures and long drives. Just a thought though. Dunno if that's even possible.

Haha.

Crazyness.

Anyways, yesterday.. I brought myself a new cellphone. First hand Motorola SLVR L7, with headset, memory card of 265MB, cherger, phone manual, USB cable and two extra headset covers. Not bad aye? And all for P7,400. If you convert.. it'll be BD$241.00. haha.. so much cheaper!!!

Anyways, will be going back to manila tomorrow to take an exam on 18th in De La Salle Main, Taft. So yeah. You guys take care! Oh, and I wanna say a million thanks to Dennis for cheering me up and for the regular check up with my blog. haha. Love u man!

Low-Rise Hipster in Holiday Plaid (Just Right For Gift-Giving)

I couldn't get up today, and I don't mean that I was totally sleepy and it was overcast outside and that my bed was warm and so that all those things were conspiring to keep me home. I mean that I actually couldn't move - every bone, every joint, every muscle in my body had a dull, painful ache. Each time I shifted in bed, it felt like a thousand twist-ties around my limbs. Even my hair hurts. But fortunately it is April 10 today, which means that my BIG entrance exam in UP Baguio would be tomorrow.

Explanation for the nagging pain? Was out all day with my ex-classmates from 2nd year HS yesterday and we hanged out in the mall, watched "The Hitched" in the cinema, treated them out in Chowking, talked, saw Tala, catched up, had alil snack at McDonalds while waiting for Annie who was always late even wayyy back then and just bonded. Discovering that they didn't change a wee bit was so comforting.. still their crazy, fun-to-be-with, old self.

:)

But don't worry about me.. the pain diffused alil bit when I did afew stretching exercise after struggling to get up from bed this morning. And so now, the pain's almost gone.. Thank you, Lord. Anyways, will be going back to my reviewers soon so hope you guys take care.

Yours truly. *mwah*

Happy Easter! Have a GREAT weekend!

SmileyCentral.com

cute, no?

SmileyCentral.com

these two smileys remind me of one of the easters where me and my two other beloved sisters used to fight over the candies at easter. The thought just makes me wish that I'm with them at this moment. Will try to be strong for them. But hey, I'm happy all the same.

SmileyCentral.com

Enough strength for the sick.

Just got from the hospital to visit my dad's aunt, which makes her also my grandmother today. Wasn't suppose to be visiting her but it was fate that brought me to her. Never mess up with fate.

She looked pale and week when we got there. And thinner than usual. With all sorts of tubes connected to her body. I hate seeing people that I love ever so weak and there's nothing I can do about it. The doctor says she doesn't have much time in this world though because the oxygen in her body is not enough to let her live. That's why she has an oxygen mask located on her face 24/7. It's her only hope.

And the saddest part is that she's going to be able to celebrate her last to-be birthday this April 12. And I won't be there cos I have an entrance exam in UP Bagiou on the 11. To travel would be quite far so I don't think I'll be making it. My only hope's prayers right now. Loads of it.

But if it's really her time and if God wants to take her from us already.. then there's nothing that can be done. But wish her a happy life on the other side of the world..

Trying to type down everything that's on my mind right now cos I can't express it in any other way but here or in my drawings. But I do pray that she'd live alil bit more longer. She was a great granny.

Holy Day!

Today was a dull day for me. Went to visit seven different churches in a day here in me dad's province. And in one of the church the mass took almost about two and a half hours(?) But you know what.. going to the church and seeing all those people with their families made me wish that I was with mine too.

Thank you Lord for dying on the cross for us. Especially for giving yourself up just to wash away all our sins..

Things that cheered me up today:
  • Papa's text message. (for me text messages aren't enough.. I need a LONG convo with you guys cos I miss you really bad, no?)
  • Tita Yhel and ate Fel's text messages.. (it's nice to feel loved)
  • Chat with Dennis via MSN. (gesshh.. I do miss his fast-talks)

:s

Starting to miss home again. Will stop now.

'nother day in this world

Ok, so the title may be a wee bit too dramatic for this post. But whatevs.

I finally got the sleep that I deserved even if my friend, Droppy was still making squeaky noises. Mouse problems perhaps (???) It's not a surprise tho.. the furry lil creature loves scampering around at sun down. What to do? Although I see Droppy all the time - outta the corner of my eye as I lay in bed - I'm not bothered enough to try and chase my new room-mate around, and even if I were.. I highly doubt that I would be fast enough to outrun it. He/she (definitly don't wanna check) flits by, it's tail waving and disappearing into an invisible place where the floor and wall meets. *shrug*

After waking up.. ate one pandesal and noodles. Washed the dirty dishes and cleaned the room. Later, shuffled through the piles of reviewers that laid untouched when my family was here. *sigh* I MISS THEM SO SO MUCH!! But I have to study for them. Before they left, I made a promise that I would study hard so yeah.. that's what I intend to do.

Went for lunch after that and took a cold shower.. (as stated in my previous blog.. there are no centrally heated water here so I have no choice but to bathe in cold water) Resting now and so I'm writing this post.

Not sure if I'll be watching Fashion House today.. I'm feeling something more like OTH.. But oh well, you guys take care.

Cool pics. Lovin' it.

4 hours of sleep, a book and a rodent.

Well.. they've left two days ago and the adjutment of them being NOT around is quite hard to make once again. But honestly I think I'm improving. I hope. No one to talk random crazy stuff with anymore, no one to tease and to fool around with. *sighs*

Haven't been getting much sleep either - if you know what I mean. Plus there's this rodent in the room which just keeps making funny sqeaky noises. Sun up and sun down. I saw it the other night when I was lying down on the bed with the lights on and it was walking around as if the whole world belonged to it. I call the rodent Droppy cos it leaves it's droppings almost everywhere. Execpt my bed. Thanks Droppy for respecting my comfy bed where I always find comfort and ease. Think I should get a mouse trap?? (Sorry Droppy but you gotta go)

Been doing alot of reading just to pass time. And lonliness. And also boredom. So this is what I'm working on right now..

Wishing I was numb inside out.

SmileyCentral.com

Family's leaving tomorrow. Feeling really weird again. Hope they arrive Brunei safely...

Oh by the way.. it's April Fools Day.. and it's the first April's Fool where I'm not in the fooling mode. Blehh!! So dramatic!!
